Academics

Academic Programmes

Balvatika

United Vidya Vihar runs three Balvatika levels — Balvatika 1, 2, and 3 — corresponding to the foundational years of preschool. Each level has age-appropriate teaching aids, furniture, and digital smart-class facilities to create a lively and engaging atmosphere. The sessions follow a short and balanced schedule to suit young learners’ attention spans and daily routines.

Through Balvatika, United Vidya Vihar ensures that every child gains confidence, communication skills, and foundational literacy and numeracy in a nurturing environment. The program focuses equally on moral values, health, and hygiene, fostering early habits that build the base for lifelong learning and well-being.

Preparatory Section

The Preparatory section builds upon foundational skills by introducing structured learning in literacy, numeracy, and foundational concepts of science and social studies. At this stage, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through interactive lessons and hands-on activities. Emphasis is placed on cultivating independence, good study habits, and social values in preparation for middle school challenges.

Middle Section

United Vidya Vihar’s Middle section supports the transition from basic understanding to deeper knowledge acquisition across subjects. Academic rigor increases with emphasis on conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and effective communication. Co-curricular activities and sports complement academics, fostering holistic development while nurturing leadership, teamwork, and responsibility in a supportive environment.

Secondary Section

The Secondary section prepares students for board examinations and higher education with a comprehensive curriculum aligned with CBSE standards. Focused on academic excellence, this phase integrates advanced theoretical knowledge with practical application, encouraging research, innovation, and critical analysis. Guidance on career planning and personality development ensures students are well-equipped to succeed in competitive environments and become responsible global citizens.

Methodology

Assessment and Evaluation

At United Vidya Vihar, the CBSE assessment methodology is implemented through a balanced system of Periodic Assessments (PA) and Summative Assessments (SA), aligned with the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) framework. This approach ensures that student evaluation is continuous and all-encompassing, measuring both academic and co-scholastic development.

Periodic Assessments (PA) comprise ongoing formative evaluations such as quizzes, assignments, projects, and classroom activities conducted throughout the academic terms. These assessments provide teachers and students with timely feedback, helping to identify learning gaps and tailor instruction accordingly.

Summative Assessments (SA) occur at the end of terms, testing cumulative knowledge and understanding over the period. These formal evaluations contribute significantly to the students' final grades and prepare them for board-level examinations.

United Vidya Vihar embraces CCE principles by integrating academic performance with assessments of life skills, attitudes, values, and extracurricular achievements. This holistic approach encourages critical thinking, creativity, and practical application of knowledge through diversified evaluation methods, making learning a more engaging and learner-centered experience.
